[line] Our Babymoon [line]
We took a short trip to Louisville, Kentucky for our babymoon! We originally thought we would go to Saugatuck, Michigan, but considering the weather and travel time, we thought Lousiville would be the better choice. Plus! I’ve never been there!
If you don’t know, Louisville is literally across the border of Indiana and Kentucky. We chose the Omni Hotel, essentially because they have a well known spa…who offers prenatal massages! A couple streets away from Fourth Street Live lives the Omni Louisville that hosts beautiful amenities. Gorgeous rooms, bars, and a top ranked steak house, it was literally a place to be. We didn’t have to leave for anything because it also had a grocery store on the bottom floor.
Everything they offer isn’t just what was so amazing about the stay, but how we were treated. We were able to have an early check in so we can rest before our couples massage. Steve got a deep tissue massage while I had a relaxing prenatal bliss massage. Afterwards, we cleaned up in time for our steak house reservation. I have to say, for the money we paid, our plates did not disappoint! We were immediately greeted with a glass of champagne (for Steve) and a cute little mocktail for me 🙂 Sometimes, being pregnant has it’s perks, because they didn’t charge us for one mocktail.
We visited their library bar which is decorated just like an old library with books, a type writer, and a modern fire place. Not to mention the drink menus were on library check out cards! Once again, they had pregnant friendly drinks! GIMME!
They also had a Speakeasy that housed a 4 lane bowling alley! Every nook and cranny of the hotel was thoughtfully decorated and super appreciated.
Obviously, all the drinking and appreciating got tiring for this pregnant mama and I wanted nothing more than to eat ice cream and watch tv in bed. However, when we got the grocery/market it was already closed! I tried so hard not to cry! But the security guard came to our rescue! He went behind the gates to get me a pint of vanilla ice cream! He didn’t have to do that, but he was so kind to do that. We spent the rest of the night watching Notre Dame vs. Navy, with my ice cream in hand and a glass of whiskey in his. It was as relaxing as it could be.
Overall, our stay was so fun and relaxing and I would recommend the Omni Lou to anyone traveling through Kentucky! Kind people and a gorgeous place to stay. Can you ask for anything better than that? I know Mexipino enjoyed our time there, but I know he/she also missed our other baby, Domer.

I had my first prenatal massage and it felt ah-mazing. My shoulders and necked needed it. My bump even got attention. Now I know Mexipino is shy, because the whole first part of the massage he/she was wiggling around, but when the masseuse was rubbing gently on my belly, he/she didn’t move one inch!
I’m starting to think he/she is an introvert like mama. My hands are going to be full when he/she reaches stranger danger stage.
I think the bump is running out of room in mama’s belly. Like I said last week, Mexipino found new real estate in my hips but I can also feel my skin stretch when he/she stretches.
The bump is also not fitting mama’s scrubs anymore. So I bought a maternity scrub top. Fingers crossed it fits, because online reviews says it fits big. So I ordered an XS.
Hiccups are still present, especially after I’m eating.
There is no doubt that I’m pregnant.
I’m also really uncomfortable. Whether it’s lounging on the couch or sleeping in bed. I just can’t get comfortable! I also stopped using the Snoogle because it’s so big and was causing more headache than comfort. So I bought a Boppy side sleeper that is more compact and makes sure I don’t sleep on my back!
I’m hungry all the time, but sometimes I can’t verbalize what I want. Infuriating my husband but leaving me PRANGRY (pregnant-angry-hungry).
I’m so exhausted. What’s worse is that I still try to give my 100% at work, even if that means bending down, crawling, or chasing toddlers.
Speaking of bending down, every time I bend down I’m afraid my water will break. Which is a scary thought because 1) my hospital bag is not packed and 2) the car seat is still in the box.
But to be truly honest, if my water were to break and I had to go into labor I’m partially ok with that. Because 1) I don’t want to be pregnant on Christmas, 2) I’d like to make it to our friends’ wedding, and 3) I just can’t wait to meet my baby!
The bump experienced his/her first Halloween. Mama didn’t dress up but she did eat a lot of candy. But the bump did get some appreciating from some veteran parents walking their kids house to house.
The bump also gets showered a lot at work with our frequent patients…aka the other OB patients!
Our next baby shower is coming up this weekend! I’m excited to see more family and friends!
