Dear Baby,
I can’t wait to be your mama. I can’t wait to bring you into this world and surround you with love. Teach you about happiness, sing songs to you, and hold you close to me. There are still a few more months until we meet and I can’t help but I imagine the mom I hope to be. She’s a tall order, but I’ll try to not be so hard on myself. There are some promises I will keep and try to remember when I’m struggling to be the best I can.
I promise to begin your day and end your day with “I love you,” to try to pretend I’m not scared when you’re trying new things, and to help you learn from your mistakes. To lift you up when you’re down, give you courage even if I’ve lost it myself, and listen to all your thoughts and ideas. Be ”that mom” at all your sports games/recitals and “that mom” who leaves notes in your lunch box. I promise to hold your hand until you’re ready to let go, but I will keep your heart next to mine. I can’t wait for you to meet your future side kick, Domer, and meet your Lola, Yaya, Lolo, and Yoyo. Last but not least, I can’t wait for you to meet your dad. I hope you’ll look something like me and I hope you’ll be as strong as your dad. But I just can’t wait to be your mama.
Love,
Your mama
