I struggle to find crafts that are fun for my daughter and mess free for me! There’s nothing more frustrating than having to clean up a tornado after a day of crafting. Glitter? I don’t allow that in my house. With winter in full force, it’s every mother’s dream to find an activity that will occupy their child for hours. For toddlers, we’re lucky if we can get 5 minutes.
I stumbled upon crafts like these that use a boundary to make a mess-free space! What I love about it is that I can use things that I already have in my house!
You can easily find craft supplies at Target or Michaels.
For Valentine’s Day, I decided to try this craft out.
Materials
- Plastic wrap
- Painters tape
- Paint
- Canvas
How-to
- Put a sheet of plastic wrap down and secure the sides with painters tape.
- Next, place your canvas over the plastic. Make a shape on your canvas using the tape. I used a heart for Valentine’s Day. But you can make any shape you desire!
- Then, put dots of paint all over the canvas.
- Now lay another layer of plastic wrap over the canvas and secure all four sides with tape.
- Finally, have your toddler play with the canvas.
- Once finished, remove canvas from plastic and let it dry for a few hours.
- When the paint is all dry, carefully remove the painter’s tape and display!
And there you have it. Kid friendly, mess free, and stress free!
