[line] Mocktail [line]
I’m a little late on Monday Mocktail, I’ve had a trying and busy couple of weeks. This isn’t a recipe but actually a La Croix flavor that tastes just like Sprite, minus the sugar. It’s their Key Lime flavor! I’m so thankful my sister-in-law introduced it to me because it has replaced so many sugary drinks that I’ve been indulging in. It’s 0 calorie, 0 sweeteners, and 0 sodium. It’s perfect!
I found it at Target and at Kroger! So the next time you think you want to reach for Sprite…try this instead! I know some people don’t like sparkling water because it can taste like nothing, but this doesn’t!
[line] The Bump [line]
I’ve now realized that my t-shirts no longer accommodate my bump and my tank tops cannot reach around my belly. I decided that I have to purchase more clothing and made my way to the closest Motherhood Maternity. My wallet may not like it but I’m not going to be all hilly billy. I have to say it was intimidating at first because I was the only one in the store. Does anyone else feel that way? I hate to have all the sales associates vulture around me. I like my personal space. Luckily, it was only one associate and she immediately sensed my fear. She kindly told me about all the specials going on and let me browse by myself.
I found so many simple clothing that can be versatile. I really enjoyed the fact that all the clothing catered to my needs. Plus, so many of their items can be worn post pregnancy. Not only did I leave with some cute purchases, but I received TWO free goodie bags!
[line] Symptoms [line]
My symptoms haven’t changed since my 20 week bumpdate. I do feel some stretching of my skin and some round ligament pain on my lower belly. I notice it more when I lay on my stomach. Sometimes I have trouble sleeping at night, mostly because my mind is occupied with my thoughts. I also find myself resting my hands on top of my bump. I don’t even think about doing it, my hands go straight there!
[line] 20 Week Ultrasound [line]
I also had my formal ultrasound this past week and got to see my baby wiggling around. Mexipino was head down, heart rate of 156, about 12 ounces, and was holding his/her head with his/her hands. My placenta is posterior was laying on it like a pillow. Explains why I feel all of Mexipino’s movements so well!
Everything looked great on Mexipino’s ultrasound, besides a spot of calcification on his/her heart. It’s called Echogenic intracardiac focus or EIF. It doesn’t affect the heart and appears in normal pregnancies. It is also common in Asian ethnicity. My OB was not concerned and explained that no other irregularities associated with EIF were seen on my scan. So I’m not concerned. But I am, but I’m not. You know what I mean?
I also was given a 3D image of Mexipino’s face and I’d like to think he/she has my nose 🙂 we’ll see in December!
[line] Baby Registry [line]
I started my registry! This was an uphill battle for me because I was afraid to tackle this. I went to BuyBuyBaby with my hubs and was completely overwhelmed. I honestly just wanted to see the strollers because that’s the only thing that I feel like I need to “test drive.” I was told that the one thing I should splurge money on is the stroller. I totally agreed with that piece of advice. I love the stroller we picked out! It’s sleek, it can become a multiple seat, and easily to collapse. I’m still continuing to put some more items on my list and I would love some more suggestions!
I’m registered at BuyBuyBaby & Target!
