I secretly wish I was a makeup artist, but I cannot blend to save my life.
Fortunately, my skills are enough to look somewhat put together. Anyone else guilty?
I was actually taught how to put basic makeup on when I was in modeling school. Then I lost my skills and found myself at Sephora and learned new techniques I use today!
Today, I’m sharing my makeup stash. These are the tools that I keep handy at all times and what makes my bleh face into a oh face.

1) Beautycounter Ocean Pacific Palette: I obviously love Beautycounter products so much that I joined the team. The thing that makes Beautycounter above the rest is the transparency they have with their ingredients. We believe in safe products and putting those products in the hands of everyone. No harmful ingredients and no warning labels. Isn’t that stress relieving. What I LOVE about this palette is the many colors, blush, highlighter and bronzer. It’s basically an all in one! I use Driftwood as my all over lid color and Sand as my crease color. Then I will use Cabana as my bronzer, as well as a contour and Sunset as blush. I love these colors because they pop on my skin and blend so well. *Beautycounter discontinued this line but the Ultimate Nudes is even better because of the variety of eye shadows available*
2) Beautycounter Volumizing Mascara: This is my favorite mascara and is basically a dupe of Too Faced Better Than Sex. I learned if you put a drop of lavender essential oil, it will keep the solution fresh. What makes this mascara better than the rest is obviously the safe ingredients but also because it is not clumpy. It doesn’t make your lashes stick together and adds so much volume. Perfect for us who were not well endowed with eye lashes.
3) Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz: I swear by this brow pencil, it is my favorite. It sculpts my hideous brows into beautiful archs. I use medium brown. All I do is fill in my browns and create the perfect arch! You have to be careful when creating your brow. It’ll take practice!
4) Beautycounter Concealer: I never thought I would need a concealer until I tried it and was AMAZED how it brightened my face! I love Beautycounter’s concealer because it is a pump with a brush tip. I use the “triangle of light” technique under my eyes. You put three dots, the top side of your nose, the base of your nose, and the side of your eye. Check out the tutorial here.
5) Beautycounter Lip Sheer: I used to HATE lipsticks because they would feel so dry on my lips. It felt like I was rubbing sand paper. That’s why I love Beautycounter’s lip sheer collection. It is lightweight and super moisturizing. The best part? With all Beautycounter products? No synthetic fragrances. It gives you the perfect touch to your makeup. I love Twig (rosey-beige) and Currant (rich maroon).
6) Beautycounter Lip Conditioner: My lips are prone to cracking and cold sores. Burts Bees, EOS, and generic chapstick would make matters worse. I soon realized that the ingredients in brand chapsticks were actually doing more bad than good. Instead of introducing moisture, it was providing a protective layer without giving moisture. I used to think that vaseline What I love about Beautycounter’s lip conditioner is that it adds moisture with peppermint and rosemary oils. I’ll usually put some on in the morning and night, and especially before any lipstick application.
7) Tartelette in Bloom: I love this palette because it has so many natural colors that can make a day time look and a night time look. Not just eye shadow, but eye liner as well! I will actually use “leader” on my lower lash line and “smokeshow” as my upper lash line. I find that these colors don’t smudge like some eye liners. For an every day look, I will use “smartypants’ for my all over lid and “rebel” for my crease color. Use an eyeshadow primer or a concealer as a primer before applying and these colors will pop!
