I’ve decided to do another round of What Do the Old Wives Say? With my last pregnancy, the old hens said GIRL (read post here.) So I thought, why not try again for this pregnancy, for kicks and giggles.
Honestly, I personally do not know. Last time, I thought I was having a boy then SURPRISE, it’s a girl! And I have been so blessed! But this pregnancy? I can argue both genders. So only time will tell.
Round 2
Baby’s heart rate: Consistently over >140.
Girl 1/ Boy 0
Cravings: Sweet! Occasionally I’ll reach for sour candy, but I LOVE cookies, ice cream, etc. That’s how I am not pregnant, but I went crazy when it was girl scout cookie season looking for little entrepreneurs to sell me some sweets!
Girl 2 / Boy 0
Pregnancy glow: I’ve noticed my skin breaking out more than often and I usually don’t break out, ever. Plus, I had a bout of contact dermatitis this pregnancy.
Girl 3 / Boy 0
Sleeping on the: I sleep comfortably on the right
Girl 4 / Boy 0
Morning Sickness : Yas. Not as bad as Isla’s pregnancy. But it was there. Not as debilitating.
Girl 5 / Boy 0
Moody vs Mellow: MOO-DY. I have 0 patience. Sometimes not sympathetic. Which is interesting, because I wasn’t moody with my last pregnancy. But this pregnancy…I don’t know how my hubby deals with me.
Girl 6/ Boy 0
Chinese Calendar: Girl
Girl 7/ Boy 0
Mayan Calendar: Boy
Girl 7 / Boy 1
Ring : It moved in a circular motion which means, girl!
Girl 8 / Boy 1
Partner’s Weight Gain: Maintained. Sympathy weight is seen with girls. But this can be null and void because Steve is pretty healthy and refuses to be part of the “dad-bod” movement.
Girl 8 / Boy 2
Carrying: I feel like I’m carrying low which is consistent with boy. However, I just had a baby so my muscles aren’t strong as before.
Girl 8 / Boy 3
Protein: I’ll eat it but I don’t have to have it.
Girl 9 / Boy 3
Girl 9 / Boy 3
And there we have it, the old hags say girl. If this blessing is another girl, I will be just as happy as if it would be a boy. But I will be financially happy because I have SO MANY GIRL clothing! And pink everything…
Isla doesn’t know what’s going on. Every now and then she’ll come up to me and pet my belly. She has REALLY gotten into her Moana doll. She will rock her and pat her. So it makes me feel like she is ready for the adventure before us. She’s going to be the best big sister ever. And, Domer? Well, I think he’s just glad that he gets to sleep on our bed with us still. (We haven’t told him Isla is moving into his room when the baby transitions to the nursery!!)
